OUR HISTORY
How it All Started
Topfield was founded in 2006, by our female co-founders Anne Cabot and Leslie Heanue. Our facility was built from the ground up as an entirely ADA-accessible equestrian facility in 2010 with the sole purpose of providing people with physical, psychological, and/or developmental disabilities access to and connection with horses. While Topfield was built for the express purpose of serving people with disabilities, our services are for everyone and anyone wishing to participate in adaptive/therapeutic horsepersonship.
Topfield’s incredible, top-of-the-line facility includes indoor and outdoor arenas (for year-round service provision), beautiful grounds, a sensory activity trail, heated viewing rooms, hydraulic lift, dedicated education/art/therapy spaces, and a four-bay grooming area designed for small group interactions.
Our Executive Director, Sarah Uzelac, 'took the reins' at Topfield in 2022 and has overseen our post-pandemic return to service and significant program expansions.
Topfield is a PATH Intl. Member Center and a 501c3 non-profit organization (EIN # 20-4432765).
