Instructors

Therapeutic Riding Instructors

Topfield Center is growing! We're looking for part-time CTRIs to help us manage & grow our thriving adaptive/therapeutic lesson program. Instructors at Topfield work together with clients & therapists to develop & deliver curriculum in therapeutic/adaptive riding & ground work programs/lessons. Schedule is flexible, but current primary needs are on Fridays & Saturdays, with opportunity for expansion. We have amazing clients, a beautiful facility, a strong record of service, great leadership, & a fantastic team - Join us!

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen

  • Current PATH CTRI certification or ability to obtain

  • Strong communication, organizational, & time management skills

  • Demonstrable interest in the goals & mission of Topfield Equestrian Center

  • Must be able to sustain aerobic activity for 45 consecutive minutes

  • Must be able to work in a variety of positions, including but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, sitting

  • Must be able to tolerate a variety of outdoor conditions, varying turf surfaces, air-conditioned buildings, & fluorescent lights

  • Must be able to operate & use equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job

  • Exercise common sense & can take initiative to accomplish tasks & make decisions

  • Be easy to work with and comfortable as a member of a supportive team, instructors are overseen by our Head Instructor

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Equine Studies

  • Strong skills in the saddle

  • Nonprofit experience

  • Barn management software experience and willingness to utilize

  • Experience working with people with many different physical, psychological, and developmental disabilities

 

Principle Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate program participants

  • Instruct private and small group adaptive riding and ground lessons to a wide variety of people

  • Develop, update, and maintain safety procedures

  • Maintain program documentation and electronic records

  • Participate in events

 

Other Duties:

  • Consult with administrative and therapeutic staff as needed

  • Participate/lead events (birthday parties, events, camps, etc.) & outreach activities as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Compensation:​

  • Hourly salary depending on experience, potential for growth to Full Time with benefits

  • Schedule is flexible, but current primary needs are on Fridays & Saturdays, with opportunity for expansion
